This week, whilst recovering from the excitement of Judy’s, we’ve been restocking the shop with beauties like this:
And working on the unfinished treasures like this Greaves & Thomas egg chair: (This is the ‘female’ version – you can see the two boys we’ve done here.) She’s probably going to end up resplendent and fabulous in this: But you’ll just have to wait and see.
And amongst all that, I got an email from an lovely new customer asking about our 1960s Danish style teak chair, that we had up in our Commissions section of the website. A little bit of research revealed that this chair is in fact by the English company Scandart, based in High Wycombe in the 1960s, (just like our dear friends Ercol once were.) After a few emails back and forth, we settled on an style of cushion and away we went! After giving the frame a good clean with our special magic cleaning formula, I got cracking on the new cushions – our client was looking for clean, minimalist lines and an overall simple but sophisticated appearance – here it is, before & after style:
What a beaut!
We have lots of fantastic chairs awaiting refurbishment on our Commissions page – and we’re always happy to chat about different options; maybe you know exactly what you’re looking for, or maybe you would like a few pointers or suggestions – either way, we’d love to hear from you, and help create something completely unique for your home!
